Catholic Teachers Guild


Catholic Teachers Guild is an organisation of Kerala catholic teachers. It is established in the Archdiocese too for the welfare of the teachers. It includes all the teachers of both aided and unaided schools in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam – Angamaly. The purpose of this organisation is to equip, to empower and to develop the catholic teachers and the teachers who are working in the catholic schools. It presumes that the Catholic teachers suppose to be able to follow the attitudes and the life style of Jesus Christ our master. So that they may realize that teaching is a sacred profession and may spread the message of love, brotherhood, a culture of social service and render peace to human minds and in the whole world.

The Catholic Teachers Guild develops the spirit of unity among the teachers. It studies in detail about the political, social and professional problems, strengthens them to tackle and helps them to find out solution for the events that they face in this field, together.

The teachers’ guild in Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese has divided the teachers in to four divisions (meghala) according to the areas of the schools, such as Koratty, Angamaly, Aluva, Paravur, Ernakulam, Cherthala for its smooth functioning. There are various programmes organized for the teachers and for the students by the teachers’ guild. Literary competitions for the teachers on teachers’ day, annual conventions of the teachers, Carrier guidance class for the X and XII students, and talent hunt scholarship exams for LP,UP,HS students. More over it convenes the meeting of teachers to evaluate and discuss with the major issues that face by the teachers.
